* Canada’s foreign minister Chrystia Freeland has tweeted that “we are making progress in our talks to update and modernize” the North America Free Trade Agreement (Nafta - which includes Mexico, the US, and Canada) “but we are not there yet”. In the tweet on 31 August she added: “We know that a win-win-win agreement is within reach. We will resume talks next week.” Her tweet comes as Canada and the US failed to produce a revamped Nafta deal ahead of the 31 August deadline set by US President Donald Trump.
