Bolsonaro leads first-round election polls in Brazil

Development: On 5 September, local pollster Ibope released its latest public opinion poll ahead of Brazil’s 7 October general election. The poll places right-wing presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro, of the Partido Social Liberal (PSL), in the lead with 22% of voting intentions. However, it shows that he would most likely be defeated in a second-round run-off.
