Close ally of Paraguay’s Abdo Benítez indicted of drug trafficking charges

Development: On 9 September, local public prosecutor Lorena Ledesma indicted Ulises Quintana, a national deputy from Paraguay’s ruling Asociación Nacional Republicana- Partido Colorado (ANR-PC) party, on five charges and asked for his impeachment so that he could face prosecution as part of an investigation into an international drug trafficking network allegedly headed by detained kingpin Reinaldo Javier 'Cucho' Cabaña.
