* Public and private entities of Brazil’s aerospace industry have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to reinforce cooperation in the country’s civil aviation sector, considered a key driver of social and economic development. Representatives from Brazil’s national civil aviation association (Anac), the ministry of transport, ports & civil aviation (MTPA), the Latin American and Caribbean air transport association (Alta), the international air transport association (IATA), and the Brazilian association of airlines (Abear) signed the MoU in Fortaleza, Ceará state, ahead of the Fourth ICAO World Aviation Forum. Speaking at the opening of the forum, Brazil’s transport, ports & civil aviation minister, Valter Casimiro Silveira, noted that the country’s air industry has grown 5.2% since the beginning of 2018, and he said that the Brazilian aviation market “is solid, safe, modern and growing”.
