Venezuela: Fear and paranoia

Given recent revelations about US government meetings with rogue Venezuelan military officials, the Maduro government appears increasingly paranoid about foreign intervention. The noise also suits its political purposes, however, distracting from its own internal failings and reinforcing its bunker mentality against its intensifying regional isolation.
