In brief: Brazil

* Brazil’s federation of automobile dealers (Fenabrave) has announced an increase in national vehicle sales this year. Over 2.65m vehicles were licensed between January and September 2018, a 12.64% increase on the same period last year. In September alone, 299,583 units were sold, an 8.5% increase on September 2017. This represents, however, a 14.99% fall on sales in August, a decrease which the president of Fenabrave, Alarico Assumpção Junior, attributes to fewer working days in September this year, as well as to the slow-down of the markets in the uncertain climate generated by the upcoming 7 October general election.
