Argentina: On 4 October, Argentina’s transport minister, Guillermo Dietrich, met representatives from top global financial institutions in the US, with the aim of securing finances for Argentina’s public work projects. According to a press release from Argentina’s transport ministry, Dietrich met with multilateral development entities such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank, as well as leading financial institutions with headquarters in the US, such as Citi Bank, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan, among others. The minister’s efforts are in keeping with Argentina’s public-private partnership (PPP) development programme, which was devised by the current administration in order to complete more than 7,200km of national roads, specifically the construction of highways, as well as a number of special works.
