Can Brazil’s electronic voting system be hacked?

The first round of Brazil’s general election was held on 7 October, making headlines around the globe due to the highly polarised nature of the presidential race and the massive corruption scandal that has destroyed any lasting trust Brazilians had in their politicians, political parties, and the political system as a whole. However, Brazilians have not only started questioning their political ethics, they have also started doubting the system used in the country to elect politicians: the electronic ballot system.
