* Brazil and Mexico have announced their intention to create a Mexico-Brazil business council, with the aim of bringing together business leaders from both countries, and of reinforcing their trade and economic relations. According to an official statement published by both foreign ministries, bilateral trade exceeded US$9bn in 2017 and has increased by 17% in the first eight months of 2018. Both countries also celebrated the success of their respective electoral processes, and expressed the hope that the incoming administrations will remain committed to the close bilateral agenda that has been developed during the presidencies of Michel Temer in Brazil and Enrique Peña Nieto in Mexico.
