* Colombia’s bicameral national legislature has approved a naitonal budget for 2019 for Col$258.9trn (US$84.4bn). According to a press release by the finance ministry, the 2019 state budget assigns Col$160.2trn for operating costs, up 9.3% on the 2018 budget, and Col$46.8trn for investment, up 20% on the previous budget. As regards a breakdown of different sectors, education will receive Col$41.4trn (an increase of Col$2.5trn on 2018); health & social protection will receive Col$32.3trn (up 30% on the 2018 budget); and social inclusion & reconciliation will receive Col$11.7trn (up Col$570bn on the 2018 budget).
