In brief: Brazil

* Brazilian pollster Datafolha has released its latest public opinion poll ahead of the second round of the presidential election scheduled for 28 October. The poll gives Jair Bolsonaro (Partido Social Liberal, PSL) 59% of the valid vote and Fernando Haddad (Partido dos Trabalhadores, PT), 41%, echoing a poll released by Ibope earlier this week. Bolsonaro’s support has increased slightly from Datafolha’s last poll, released on 10 October, which predicted 58%-42%. Of the total votes, Bolsonaro would receive 50% and Haddad 35%, with 10% casting blank or spoilt ballots and 5% still undecided. Haddad has the higher rejection rates, with 54% saying they would never vote for him, versus 41% saying they would never vote for Bolsonaro.
