* Cuba's Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, who doubles as the country’s economy & planning minister, has met with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Ivanovich Borisov during the XVI session of the intergovernmental Cuba-Russia commission held in Havana this week. According to a press release from Cuba's foreign ministry (Minrex), the two officials discussed issues regarding the development of bilateral agreements and Russia’s participation in Cuba’s economic and social development programme planned for 2030. The Minrex statement highlights that Ruiz and Borisov also discussed Russia’s participation in projects promoted by Cuba in the energy, transport, industry, communication, and agriculture sectors. Minrex also announced that Cuba’s President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez will visit Russia as part of an official international trip that is scheduled to start on 2 November.
