In brief: Mexico

* Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) announced that the country received US$2.7bn in remittances from Mexicans residing abroad, principally in the US, in September, an 8.8% increase on September 2017. The average remittance was of US$317, up from US$306 in September 2017. Over the period January-September 2018, remittances totalled US$24.7bn, which represents a year-on-year increase of 10.8%.
