* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has reported that industrial sector activity fell 11.5% year-on-year in September. Industrial activity levels in Argentina measured by Indec have now fallen for five consecutive months as result of the general slowdown in economic activity in the country, whose GDP is forecast to contract by around 2% this year. An Indec report notes that the fall in industrial activity in September was the result of falling activity levels across all industrial sub-sectors, and it noted that the September figures bring the accumulated industrial activity level for the first nine months of the year to -2.1% compared with the same period last year.
