In brief: Brazil

* Brazil’s council of coffee exporters (Cecafé) announced that coffee exports totalled a record 3.75m sacks in October (one sack = 60kg), a 29.1% year-on-year increase and a 20.1% monthly increase compared to September. Revenue totalled US$490m. This represents only a 0.7% year-on-year increase, due to the sharp decline in coffee prices.
