Ruta del Dinero K: The next great regional scandal
On 30 October the oral trial of various businessmen implicated in the so-called ‘Ruta del Dinero K’ money laundering and bribery scandal began in Argentina. The case is being billed as the largest government corruption scandal in Argentina’s history and it could have major political implications in the country. In addition, the scandal could also have consequences in Uruguay as its banking system was apparently used by those implicated to launder their ill-gotten gains.
