LatinNews Regional Monitor: Andean Group - 16 November 2018

In brief: Peru

* Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has reported that the domestic economy grew by 2.13% month-on-month in September, slightly lower than the 2.5% growth rate registered in August. An Inei report said that growth in September was driven by increased levels of household consumption as reflected in a 2.69% increase in retail sales and a 9.90% increase in consumer credit. In contrast, the construction sector registered negative growth during the month (-2.9%), which Inei has attributed to a fall in government investment spending.
