In brief: Argentina

* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released its latest inflation figures, which show that the national inflation rate increased by 45.9% year-on-year in October. Indec data show that the consumer price index increased by 5.4% in October compared with the previous month, making it the second-highest monthly increase so far this year. Meanwhile, the October inflation result brings the accumulated inflation rate for the year to 39.5%, the highest level of inflation registered in Argentina since the 40% year-end rate posted in 2016 and once again nudging the 40.9% rate observed at the peak of the 2001-2002 economic crisis.
