* El Salvador’s President Salvador Sánchez Cerén has met with a delegation of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to analyse possibilities of strengthening trade following the launch of bilateral relations in August. The meeting follows a visit by President Sánchez Cerén to China earlier this month after which he revealed that China had authorised a US$150m donation over a three-year period for projects in the sectors of health, education, technology, water supply, and disaster prevention & mitigation. Sánchez Cerén also said that China had agreed to 13 joint projects, without providing details. Next week El Salvador is due to receive a delegation of representatives from 30 Chinese companies with the aim of establishing contact with Salvadorean producers.
