López Obrador plans decentralisation, but scepticism abounds

As Mexico’s incoming President Andrés Manuel López Obrador prepares to take office on 1 December, we are about to see how many of his electoral campaign promises come to fruition. The leftist president-elect has promised radical change for Mexico, from changing the paradigm on security policy to implementing a programme of government austerity. Another of his policies involves moving government ministries to different cities around the country as part of a decentralisation plan.
