Legalisation of cannabis likely to follow supreme court ruling

Mexico’s supreme court (SCJN) on 31 October ruled in favour of two petitioners who had appealed against the laws that criminalise the use of cannabis for recreational purposes. These rulings followed three similar decisions, the first of which was issued in 2015. Together these five cases have now established jurisprudence, which means that from now onwards all courts must solve any similar appeals in the same way.
