Brazil: Campos Neto takes over at Brazil’s central bank

Roberto Campos Neto, the treasury director for the Americas at Santander bank, will take over the reins at Brazil’s central bank once his appointment is confirmed by congress. With congress entering recess in mid-December that may mean he starts the job quickly – or has to wait until mid-February. The current cental bank president, Ilan Goldfajn, welcomed his successor’s appointment, describing him as an expert in the financial system and the economy. Market analysts were also pleased by his nomination.
