* Both Peru’s private and public sector agree that the country needs to be more competitive. On the final day of Cade 2018, an annual meeting of business executives in Peru, Fernando Zavala, a former prime minister and president of the Consejo Privado de la Competitividad (CPC), a private-sector think-tank, presented a report on competitiveness which included proposals on infrastructure, the labour market, and the business environment, amongst other areas. Vizcarra said that he hoped that the private and public sector will work together to produce a single document that will be used as a roadmap for Peru to improve its competitiveness.
