* Paraguay’s finance ministry has confirmed its fiscal deficit forecast for the year at 1.3% of GDP. If realised, the deficit will fall below the 1.5% of GDP limit stipulated in the 2013 fiscal responsibility law (LRF) and would mark the second consecutive year in which the LRF is upheld after the fiscal deficit last year was 1.1% of GDP. A ministerial statement said that up to October the fiscal deficit was standing at 1% of GDP and that this is only expected to increase slightly in the final two months of the year. The statement adds that following the recent approval of the 2019 national budget it expects that the fiscal deficit will reach 1.5% of GDP next year.
