The trial of El Chapo and Mexican politics
The trial of Mexican drug kingpin, Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán Loera, started in the US on 13 November 2018. Guzmán is accused of trafficking over 440,000 pounds of cocaine into the US. He is also accused of being responsible for the countless murders and kidnappings perpetrated by the Sinaloa/Pacífico drug trafficking organisation (DTO).
