* The Dominican Republic (DR)’s tourism ministry (Mitur) has released new figures which show that a total of 6.56m tourists visited the DR in 2018, up 6.2% on 2017. The report highlights that the growth in the number of tourists traveling to the DR in 2018 is largely the result of a joint strategy between the Mitur and the private sector in promoting the country internationally.
