* Chile’s international economic relations directorate (Direcon) has published a new report on the impact of free trade agreements (FTA) on Chilean trade policy. The report revealed that 95% of national exports go to countries with FTAs. Figures indicate that in the case of hazelnuts and avocados 100% of exports go to countries with which Chile has an FTA (96% for wine exports, and 90% for salmon and trout). Direcon’s director, Rodrigo Yáñez, stated that: "Our network of 26 FTAs with 64 economies has allowed us to create economic prosperity and has given us access, under preferential conditions, to 4.68bn people”.
