* Costa Rica’s national statistics institute (Inec) has released new figures which indicate that the country’s national unemployment rate was 12% in the last quarter of 2018, up 2.7 percentage points on the same period in 2017. The figures also show that the national employment rate was 55.4% - up 3.6 percentage points on the same quarter in 2017.
