In brief: Brazil

* Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the latest figures from its index of economic activity (IBC-Br), an indication of GDP growth, which put month-on-month growth at 0.21% in December 2018. Yearly economic activity grew 1.15% in 2018, as Brazil’s slow economic recovery continues, although this is below the BCB’s latest projections for 1.3% GDP growth.
