In brief: Argentina

* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has issued a new report which shows that the country’s exports reached US$4.59bn in January, down 4.7% on January 2018, while imports reached US$4.21bn (down 26.5% on January 2018). This leaves a trade surplus of US$372m. Argentina’s main trading partners in January were Brazil (which accounted for US$705m worth of exports and provided US$742m of imports), China (US$265m and US$810m), and the US (US$272m and US$693m).
