Colombia’s coffee problems
World coffee production is estimated to have reached 159.7 coffee bags (one bag = 60 kilos) for the 2017/2018 season, up 1.2% on 2016/2017. However, consumption is expected to have reached 158.9m bags over the 2017/2018 – a surplus which is alarming Colombian producers given the historic low prices.
