* Chile’s mining ministry (Minmineria) has announced that Minmineria head,
Baldo Prokurica, has signed a memorandum of understanding with his Canadian counterpart,
Amarjeet Sohi, on the joint promotion of the development of sustainable mineral and metal mining. A Minmineria statement cites
Prokurica as saying that
“the aim of the agreement is to allow the exchange of technology and professional expertise”.
Prokurica, who signed the agreement during an official visit to Canada where he attended the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2019 mining conference held in Toronto, added that he also contacted with relevant industry actors at the PDAC in his efforts to try to promote the development of 32 medium-scale mining projects in Chile.
