Fallout from El Chapo’s trial: who’s next?

At the end of a trial that was followed closely by the media in the US and Mexico, on 12 February 2019 Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán was found guilty by a US federal court of all the charges he faced, including participation in a criminal enterprise, conspiracy to produce and distribute cocaine and other drugs, money laundering, and conspiring to import narcotics into the US. His sentencing hearing provisionally has been set for 25 June 2019, with a high likelihood that he will be handed a lifetime prison sentence.
