* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show that national labour productivity levels (output per hours worked) fell by an accumulated 0.7% in 2018. This is the first yearly fall in productivity recorded by Inegi since 2009, when at the height of the global economic crisis it fell by 5.6%. An Inegi report shows that the overall fall in productivity was driven by a 2.7% fall in productivity in the manufacturing sector.
