Mauricio Macri and Chile’s President
Sebastián Piñera have jointly highlighted the importance of a recently ratified bilateral treaty, the Economic Complementation Agreement (ACE), for increasing opportunities for trade and investment between their two countries. This ACE adds to an existing trade treaty between Chile and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), of which Argentina is a member. The bilateral ACE promotes the exchange of goods, services and investments, eliminates roaming charges between Chile and Argentina, strengthens the role of women in international trade, and includes provisions to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises to take part in public tenders.
