* According to the 2019 Doing Business report, a World Bank (WB) study which compares business regulation for domestic firms in 190 countries, companies in Argentina pay the second highest tax rates in the world. The total tax and mandatory contribution rate to be paid by a local company during its second year of activity reached 106% of profits in Argentina, surpassed only by that in Comoros (219.6%), an African country in the Mozambique Channel made up of three small islands. In neighbouring countries, the total tax and contribution rate ranges from 34% in Chile to 83.7% in Bolivia, and 65.1% in Brazil.
