Bolivia: Good, but not that good?

For those with an eye for economic contrasts, Latin America offers intriguing stories. Here’s one: a radical left-wing government, that of President Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, is rightly attracting international media scrutiny for its catastrophic economic failures. Yet at the same time, an administration with a similar ideological outlook, that of President Evo Morales in Bolivia, seems to be an unqualified economic success story. This year it will (again) be the fastest-growing economy in South America. What’s the explanation?
