Mexico: AMLO moderates his stance towards banks

Fears that the newly-installed Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) might seek to interfere in the financial sector appear to have been eased. In a speech at the Mexican Banking Association’s conference in Acapulco, AMLO confirmed that banking regulation would be conducted by the relevant authorities and that his government would not set banking fees.
