NICARAGUA: Cracks grow in Ortega government

Two senior Nicaraguan officials have quit in recent days – the attorney general, Hernán Estrada, and the environment minister, María José Corea Pérez. Their departures are widely considered the latest sign of international pressure on the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN) government led by President Daniel Ortega over the crisis stemming from its crackdown on opponents which began in April 2018.
