EL SALVADOR: Remittance boost ahead of Bukele’s investiture

Remittances received by El Salvador in the first four months of this year increased by 3.9% to total US$1.78bn compared with the same period in 2018, according to figures released by the central bank (BCR). Of this total, US$1.69bn, 95%, came from Salvadorean expatriates living in the US.
