* President Mauricio Macri has warned against a return to the past in comments that implied a critique of the Peronist opposition party: “Some believe that we can find solutions in returning to the past. I say to them that if we go back to the past we will self-destruct.” His comments were made at the inauguration of a newly renovated stretch of railway run by state-owned company Belgrano Cargas where he stood alongside governor of the Salta province and presidential candidate for the Peronist Partido Justicialista in Argentina’s October general election, Juan Manuel Urtubey. “It is difficult to explain how we had the capacity for an attitude which led to us losing thousands of kilometres of railway,” the president continued his critique.
