Villavicencio, the capital of Meta department, has suffered from several avalanches while heavy rains last week have caused several more landslides and cracks in the mountains, prompting the department to enact preventative measures and risk mitigation for individuals living in the impacted areas. The government – namely the ministries of transport; finance; agriculture; energy; and trade, industry & tourism have announced relief programmes for producers and sectors impacted by the closures.
