* Chile’s President Sebastián Piñera has announced an investment plan of US$1.44bn to modernise the country’s airports. The project includes works at 17 airports and seeks to double the capacity of terminals (214,000m2 to 537,000m2) to meet the increasing demand of the upcoming 20 years. President Piñera also promised a reduction of boarding fees of 10% for domestic flights – a continuity of a policy initiated last year. This project aims to further increase international operation services to 15 other airports.
