* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest results of its national survey of occupation and employment (Enoe), which show that the unemployment rate rose to 3.5% in May 2019 compared with 3.2% in May 2018. The unemployment rate remains unchanged from April 2019. Underemployment has risen to 7.5%, up from 7% in May 2018, while employment in the informal sector grew 0.3 percentage points year-on-year, but fell by 0.8 percentage points compared with April 2019, to 27.4%.
