In brief: Paraguay

* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released new figures which show exports totalled US$6.4bn in the first six months of 2019, down 9.8% on the same period in 2018. Imports over the same period reached US$5.6bn, down 7.7% on the same period in 2018. This left a trade surplus of US$767.3m in the first half of 2019, a drop of US$219.6m compared with the same period in June 2018.
