MEXICO: López Obrador under fire over surge in homicides

On 24 July the president of Mexico’s powerful business sector lobby Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (Coparmex), Gustavo de Hoyos Walther, accused the government led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of lacking “clear lines of action” to deal with the soaring levels of violence in the country.
