* Ecuador’s state-owned oil company Petroecuador has announced the completion of scheduled maintenance at the Esmeraldas refinery, the largest of Ecuador’s three refineries located in the northwest of the country. The maintenance, which began on 8 March, was completed on the refinery’s Catalytic Unit 1 (FFC), which produces naphtha and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the country’s most in-demand fuels. Petroecuador noted that the works cost US$15.85m, a saving of around 12% compared with the initially estimated cost of US$18m.
