In brief: Brazil’s senate committee to vote on tax reform within 45 days
* Senator Roberto Rocha, the rapporteur for tax reform in the Brazilian senate’s constitution, justice & citizenship committee, has announced that the committee will vote on the government’s tax reform proposal within the next 45 days. This comes as the senate is also due to consider the government’s pension reform initiative, a priority for the administration led by President Jair Bolsonaro that was approved by the federal chamber of deputies on 7 August.
