* Argentina’s energy ministry has announced it will export natural gas under
“non-interruptible” conditions to Chile. According to a press release by Argentina’s energy ministry, the maximum volume of exports under this mechanism will be 10m cubic metres per day between 15 September 2019 and 15 May 2020. In September 2018, Argentina resumed exporting gas to Chile on an interruptible basis after exports were abruptly suspended in 2007. The energy ministry press release notes that during the first half of 2019 Argentina’s gas exports (to Chile, Brazil and Uruguay) averaged 5.9m cubic metres per day.
