In brief: Honduras’s trade deficit up 2.2%

* Honduras’s central bank (BCH) has released new figures which show the country’s exports totalled US$2.27bn in the first half of 2019, down 8.1% on the same period in 2018. Meanwhile imports totalled US$4.98bn, down 2.8% on the same period the previous year. This has left a trade deficit of US$2.7bn, up 2.2% on the same period in 2018.
